Nuance Dragon Drive Powers Toyota’s New Smart G-BOOK App

Launching in Japan, Toyota’s New Smart G-BOOK Application Integrates Nuance Voice Recognition and Voice Search for Safer, Smarter Access to Connected Services

Burlington, Mass. – June 6, 2013 – Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) today announced that Nuance Dragon Drive is powering the voice capabilities behind Toyota’s new smart G-BOOK smartphone application, part of Toyota’s G-BOOK Telematics service in Japan. Toyota has integrated Dragon Drive’s Japanese voice recognition capabilities directly into the smart G-BOOK application called “Agent” enabling users to search for a destination and news by using natural voice input.

For instance, people can say, “Find the nearest gas station,” “Looking for Italian restaurants open today,” “Find sports news,” and more. Dragon Drive features the same core Dragon voice recognition technology available as part of the successful Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search smartphone application in Japan.
